We have worked with thousands of veterinarians and staff with our suite of software programs. We have had many requests for a simple software program for the solo equine vet. This is where Cassadol started, and it will always be for the solo practitioner. We have other practice management software for 2+ vets and larger practices, called HVMS, that have more complicated issues. HVMS runs many of the largest equine practices in the world. Onboarding with Cassadol

The set up and getting started process for Cassadol should take you 20 minutes and we will provide a list of all the information you need to get started. You will probably be doing this in the evening or weekend and the goal is to make this a simple for you as possible.

What computer or iPad can I use with Cassadol?

It does not matter, any devide withe a modern day web browser will work. Safari, Google Chrome, etc.

Can I see records on my phone?

Yes. It is going to be hard to enter anything that is lenghty but you can review, search and retrieve records easily.

How do I save images from my phone for medical records?

You will need to transfer your saved images on your phone to your computer to upload to the medical record. Images from your phone do not directly upload into the medical record.

How do I save images from my iPad for medical records?

Images can be uploaded directly from your iPad to the medical record by using the "attach file' feature in Cassadol.

How do I save images from my PC for medical records?

Images can be uploaded directly from your iPad to the medical record by using the "attach file' feature in Cassadol.

Do I need an internet connection with Cassadol?

You need to have connection to the internet, which can be done from ANY internet connection - WiFi, hard wired, hot spot, satellite, StarLink, etc.

Can I use a mobile hotspot to access Casssadol?

Yes

Does Cassadol have offline capabilities?

Not at this time but it is currently in active development to be released soon.

Does Cassadol have an app on the App Store or on Google Play?

No, Cassadol is accessed via web broweser and there are no plans to make an app.

Credit Card Processing & PCI Compliance

How does it work?

Cassadol is directly integrated with CardConnect which allows you to cahrge your client credit cards directly through Cassadol. Once payments are received, they will be credited to your client account and make accounting and collections much easier. Not extra steps.

Do I have to use Card Connect?

Does Cassadol work with other credit cards processors?

Any credit card processor (Stripe, Square, etc.) can be used but only CardConnect is integrated directly into Cassadol.

What are the fees to use Card Connect?

There are no monthly fees, set up fees or monthly minumum fees. CardConnect charges transaction fees only when cards are processed.

What are the transaction fees?

2.7% plus $0.25 per transaction. There are no additional fees for premium cards.

How quickly do I get paid?

Deposits are made the next business day. No waiting for month end batches.

Who is CardConnect?

CardConnect is a creidt card processor with a long standing record of serving veterinary practices, several thousand in fact!

What is PCI Compliant?

Payment card industry (PCI) compliance is mandated by credit card companies to help ensure the security of credit card transactions in the payments industry.

Do I have to be PCI compliant?

You do not have to be, but it is highly recommended. If there is a data breech of your system, you may be held accountable for damages.

How Many Users Accounts Do I Need?

Cassadol is charged monthly by the number of user accounts. We recommend one user account for each person accessing the system. The reason for this is audit capabilities. When each user has an account, Cassadol tracks what user performed which tasks. This is critical for medical record vs. administrative tracking. Veterinarians are solely responsbile for their medical records from a legal perspective.

Data Conversions

What software can be converted?

Current software conversions include vetinform, Avimark, Hippo, Advantage, Impromed, Triple Crown, Thorovet, Vetter, ezyvet, DVMax, DVManager. If your software is not on the list, we can still do it.

How long does a conversion take?

Conversions take between 48 hours and two weeks, depending on whether we have convereted from your current software to Cassadol.

What do I have to do?

We will need a back up of your current system and will provide instuctions on what to do with it. We can also assist if you are not sure how to do this.

Third Part Integrations (Labs, PACS, etc.)

There are no third party integrations with Cassadol at this time other than credit card processing. We will be adding lab, PACS, Coggins and others in time.

What's In The Name Cassadol?

With the deep roots of our company and the practice that our software started, we needed to pay tribute to the equine veterinarian. With this guiding principle, Cassadol began to take shape. When we researched the early days of equine practice, we found a remarkable thought leader and pioneer in Dr. Margaret Phyllis Lose, the first female equine veterinarian in the United States and proud owner of her beloved mare, Cassadol. Since the story can be told more eloquently by others, here is a direct excerpt from the article that inspired us.

At 13, her pony had outgrown its garage stall, and young Phyllis convinced her parents to let her rent an unused barn from a neighbor and make an income boarding horses, with great success. As she carefully saved her pennies, Phyllis was already hatching her plan to pursue her dream job as an equine vet.

At 15, she began exercising racehorses at the track, with some remarkable stories of near-death experiences. They weren’t enough to scare her off, apparently, because, at 19, she was able to convince the track stewards to let her test and certify to become the youngest racehorse trainer in the country. She was one of only three women training in the U.S. at the time, too.

Throughout all her strenuous studies, managing the barn, and training and exercising racehorses, Phyllis still found time to train herself as a showjumper and won many prizes on her own horses as well as riding for clients. In 1952, she rode her own beloved mare, Cassadol, to victory in the iconic Devon Horse Show Open Jumper Class.

Make sure they have lots of testimonials from practices jut like your and let them show you the way. Small animal software is not equine software.

Keep It Simple

Don't fall into the trap of expecting software to do absolutely everything, you might need to be flexible. Old processes and work flows may not follow new software so have an open mind about options to use new tools.

From start to finish, engagement from the entire team matters and will impact the eventual outcome. Get everyone involved and providing input into the decision, this enable early wins and team buy-in.
